A Mission Like No Other

In Season 1, viewers were introduced to the elite undercover Lioness Unit, led by Joe McNamara (Zoë Saldaña). Their mission? Infiltrate terrorist networks by targeting their closest female confidantes—wives, daughters, and girlfriends—and turn them into CIA assets. But when an operation went sideways, Force Recon Marine Cruz Manuelos (Laysla de Oliveira) was recruited to take on the unit’s most dangerous assignment yet.

The explosive finale left fans reeling—Joe’s daughter, Kate (Hannah Love Lanier), was recovering from a serious car accident, while Cruz found herself emotionally entangled with her target, Aaliyah (Stephanie Nur). In a brutal turn of events, Cruz was forced to eliminate Aaliyah’s fiancé and father, questioning the very purpose of her mission.

Season 2: The Fight is Far from Over

As the new season kicks off, Joe must deal with the fallout of past operations while navigating new, even riskier assignments. A U.S. Congresswoman is abducted on American soil, prompting Secretary of State Mullins (Morgan Freeman) to activate the Lioness Unit for assistance. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn (Nicole Kidman) finds herself in grave danger when an intruder breaks into her home—with fatal consequences. With pressure mounting, Joe faces her toughest battle yet: balancing her duty to her country with the personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of the Lioness program.

What Critics Are Saying

The second season is already generating buzz, with Decider giving it a strong "Stream It" recommendation:

"There’s still plenty of shooting and action in the second season of Lioness*, but now Sheridan understands that his stellar cast can do a whole lot more than grimace and hold a gun."

Meanwhile, Collider praises the show’s deepening emotional layers:

"The tension between duty to country and duty to family makes Lioness such a gripping series to watch… but it’s also a compelling drama because we understand why Joe must continue to put herself in the line of fire, even as we wish more than anything that she would stop."

Don’t Miss the Action!

Bigger stakes, deeper betrayals, and unrelenting action—Season 2 of Special Ops: Lioness promises to deliver all this and more. Tune in to M-Net (DStv Channel 102) on Monday, 24 March at 9pm EAT for the premiere of this pulse-pounding new season!
