Disney has announced that the much-anticipated animated musical series Disney Jr.’s Ariel will premiere on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 08:30 CAT on Disney Junior. This new series brings a fresh and vibrant look at Ariel’s underwater adventures, blending music and storytelling in a Caribbean-inspired setting. With the promise of engaging storylines and stunning visuals, this series aims to captivate young audiences and families alike.

Adding to the excitement, the cast features Yvette Nicole Brown, Melissa Villaseñor, and Ron Funches in recurring roles, enhancing the show’s dynamic character lineup. To heighten the anticipation, a series of shorts titled Disney Jr.’s Ariel: Mermaid Tales will debut on Monday, June 24, offering a closer look at Ariel’s life in the magical kingdom of Atlantica. These shorts will provide an engaging introduction to the series, focusing on different aspects of Ariel's world and building enthusiasm for the main series premiere.

Set in the enchanting Caribbean-inspired kingdom of Atlantica, Disney Jr.’s Ariel follows young mermaid princess Ariel, voiced by Mykal-Michelle Harris, on thrilling underwater adventures with her family and friends. Key characters include King Triton (Taye Diggs), Ursula (Amber Riley), and Flounder (Gracen Newton). The series celebrates themes of self-expression, curiosity, and resourcefulness, all while reflecting Caribbean culture through its depiction of food, fashion, language, and folklore. Guided by cultural consultant Dr. Patricia Saunders, the show maintains authenticity and respect for Caribbean traditions.
